Bilfinger Berger receives major Australian orders valued at €425 million
Bilfinger Berger has received major new orders in Australia with a total volume of €425 million. The Group has been commissioned with comprehensive construction and conversion works at a military base near Adelaide. In Spring Creek, Bilfinger Berger is carrying out the design and turnkey construction of a correctional facility with space for 350 prisoners.

Prognos study for Bilfinger Berger: Environmental protection and social harmony top priorities for city dwellers
If inhabitants have their way, German cities in the year 2038 will be known primarily for their environmental awareness and social harmony. Greater technological advancement, on the other hand, is not a desirable goal for most. That is the result of a study the Prognos Institute carried out for Bilfinger Berger in November. The survey marked the start of an international competition that the construction and services Group hopes will provide new impetus for the development of German cities.

Proceeds from the sale of Razel S.A., France; net profit 2008 to exceed previous forecast
Bilfinger Berger, on October 20, 2008, has sold all of the shares in Razel S.A., its wholly-owned French civil engineering subsidiary, to Fayat S.A., France. Bilfinger Berger expects net profit for 2008 to increase beyond the previously forecast €140 million to about €185 million.

Bilfinger Berger wins concession project in Canadian health-care sector
A project company owned by Bilfinger Berger and infrastructure developer John Laing has been selected to carry out a privately-financed hospital project in Canada. The company, in which both Bilfinger Berger and John Laing hold a 50% stake, will finance, design, build and then, over a period of 30 years, operate two health-care centers in Kelowna and Vernon, 400 kilometers east of Vancouver.

Bilfinger Berger has been successful in developing another privately-financed transport project in Hungary. A consortium under the Group’s leadership is in front of the competition and expects to reach financial close shortly on a 30-year concession contract to design, finance, build and operate an additional 65-kilometer section of the M6 Motorway.

Private highway project in Germany: Lower Saxony turns to Bilfinger Berger for the widening of the A1
The federal state of Lower Saxony is planning to contract a consortium consisting of Bilfinger Berger, John Laing and Johann Bunte with the widening of a section of the A1 highway between the northern German cities of Hamburg and Bremen. The project company will assume responsibility for financing, design, expansion and operation of the 73-kilometer stretch of highway over a 30-year period.

Through the acquisition of Clough Engineering & Maintenance in Australia, the Group expands its activities into the area of power plant service. The company is specialized in the operation and maintenance of installations in coal-fired power plants. In the current financial year it will generate an output volume of €15 million with 150 employees.

In Australia, Bilfinger Berger has started 2008 with a major order: The Group, together with a partner, is expanding the deep-sea port in Botany Bay with five additional berths for large container ships.
