Interim Report Q3 2009
In the first nine months of 2009, output volume and orders received at Bilfinger Berger reached levels broadly equivalent to those of the prior-year period. Despite a market environment that remains difficult, the services units once again increased their contribution to Group earnings. As already reported, however, total earnings were burdened by risk provisions made in relation to a road construction project in Qatar.

Bilfinger Berger constructing Europe's largest offshore wind farm
Bilfinger Berger, together with its Danish partner Per Aarsleff, has secured a contract for construction of the foundations at the new London Array offshore wind farm in the outer Thames Estuary. The foundations for 175 wind turbines and two substations are being built at a distance 20 to 35 kilometers from the UK coast. The total order volume amounts to around €400 million, and Bilfinger Berger holds a 50 percent stake in the Joint Venture.

Bilfinger Berger reaches financial close on a ten fire station project in the United Kingdom
Bilfinger Berger is delivering ten new fire stations in the English county of Staffordshire on the basis of a public private partnership model. The project has an investment volume of €53 million and includes the design, financing, and construction of the facilities, as well as operations over a period of 27 years.

The capital increase with subscription rights for shareholders of Bilfinger Berger AG agreed on October 6, 2009 was successfully completed on October 21, 2009. “The strong interest in the new shares is proof of investor confidence in Bilfinger Berger’s corporate strategy”, emphasized Chairman of the Executive Board, Herbert Bodner.

Bilfinger Berger acquires industrial and power plant services provider MCE
Bilfinger Berger is continuing the expansion of its services business with a major takeover: through the acquisition of 100 per cent of the shares in industrial and power services provider MCE, headquartered in Linz, Austria, Bilfinger Berger's Industrial Services and Power Services divisions grow significantly, further strengthening their leading position in Europe.

Bilfinger Berger acquires industrial services provider LTM
Bilfinger Berger has acquired an 80 percent stake in LTM, a French industrial services provider. The company, which is headquartered in Lyon, generates annual turnover of €40 million with 110 employees. The parties to the sale have agreed not to disclose any details on the purchase price.

Bilfinger Berger is successfully maintaining its strong position in the face of difficult economic conditions. In the first half of 2009, output volume and orders received rose slightly and earnings increased significantly. Against the backdrop of continued positive development in services and a generally stable construction business, the Company confirms its outlook for the full year.

High levels of investment in the modernization of energy supplies continues to drive Bilfinger Berger's business: The construction and services Group is leading a consortium that will carry out structural work for the new Block 9 at Grosskraftwerk Mannheim AG. The order has a volume of €120 million and Bilfinger Berger is responsible for 30 percent of the total.

Bilfinger Berger Award 2009: Copenhagen’s exemplary urban development project honored
The Holmbladsgade district of Copenhagen is the winner of the Bilfinger Berger Award 2009. In this area, decisions on investments in social infrastructure and in the modernization of residential buildings, roads and squares were largely made by the residents themselves. This meant that the successful development of the former problem area was accompanied by a high degree of acceptance among the people who live there.

Major order with a volume of €510 million in Australia: Bilfinger Berger to widen Ipswich Motorway near Brisbane
Bilfinger Berger is benefiting from the Australian government’s ongoing high levels of investment in the country’s transport infrastructure. The subsidiary Abigroup has now received an order to widen the Ipswich Motorway southwest of Brisbane from four to six lanes over a length of eight kilometers. The order includes the reconstruction of motorway intersections and the construction of 31 new bridges.

Bilfinger Berger benefits from Australian economic stimulus program: major order worth €120 million in field of education
Bilfinger Berger has received an order to extensively modernize 177 schools in the Sydney metropolitan area. As part of the Federal Government’s economic stimulus package, the state of New South Wales has started its biggest ever school construction program. Bilfinger Berger will modernize teaching and administration buildings and will extend existing facilities. The project is worth €120 million and is to be completed by the middle of 2011.

Bilfinger Berger has won new orders from the energy industries in the Netherlands and Australia with a total volume of €200 million. “In the energy sector, demand for our services has been encouragingly stable in all markets”, says Herbert Bodner, Chairman of the Executive Board at Bilfinger Berger.

Construction completed on the Golden Ears Crossing in Vancouver
One of Bilfinger Berger’s largest privately-financed concession projects is about to go into operation: In Vancouver, host city of the 2010 Winter Olympics, the Golden Ears Crossing highway connection across the Fraser River was completed ahead of schedule in May 2009 following a 38 month construction period.

Bilfinger Berger to build 10-kilometer of tunnel for high-speed ICE rail line in Thuringia
Bilfinger Berger has been commissioned by Deutsche Bahn to lead a consortium for the construction of three tunnel structures with a total length of around 10 kilometers, part of the new high-speed ICE rail line in Thuringia. Total volume amounts to €290 million, 40% of which is accounted for by Bilfinger Berger.

Bilfinger Berger to build new correctional facility in Düsseldorf
Bilfinger Berger, the construction and services Group, is to build a new correctional facility in Düsseldorf for the German state of North-Rhine Westphalia. The order has a volume of €120 million. The prison, with space for 850 inmates, will be put into operation in the fall of 2011 and will replace existing facilities which can no longer meet current demand.

Bilfinger Berger wins €100 million order for railway tunnel in Stockholm
Bilfinger Berger has won an order to build a 1.9-kilometer long section of the City Rail Tunnel in the Swedish capital of Stockholm, improving the connection from the city’s main station to the national railway network. The order has a volume of €100 million. The tunnel section will be completed by 2015 and the entire line will go into service in 2017.

Interim Report Q1 2009
Bilfinger Berger started the year 2009 with a good first quarter. Output volume, orders received and operating profit (EBIT) all showed strong growth due, in particular, to positive development in the services business. The construction business remained generally stable, and an important transport project was added to the privately financed concessions portfolio.

Facility Services wins significant repeat orders: Deutsche Bank, IBM, Alstom and EADS place their trust in Bilfinger Berger
Bilfinger Berger Facility Services has started the year 2009 with high volumes of orders received. Framework agreements with Deutsche Bank, IBM, Alstom and EADS have been renewed with a total volume of €360 million and contract periods of three to five years.

Public-private partnership: Bilfinger Berger to modernize and operate schools in Hof
Bilfinger Berger will modernize four schools in the district of Hof in Bavaria on the basis of a public-private partnership, and will subsequently operate the schools for a period of 21 years. The project includes the modernization and expansion of three existing schools as well as the construction of a new school center. Investment volume amounts to more than €50 million and the financing does not require any equity contribution from the Bilfinger Berger Group.

Expansion of capacity in power plant service: Bilfinger Berger acquires majority stake in industrial installation company Duro Dakovic
Bilfinger Berger has increased its stake in the publicly-listed Croatian industrial installation company Duro Dakovic Montaza from about 25 percent to a majority stake. The Group is acquiring an additional 50 percent of the shares from the Croatian state and will make a public tender offer for the 10 percent of shares that are in free float.

Investment in climate protection: Bilfinger Berger to supply piping system for RWE power plant Westfalen
Bilfinger Berger has received an order from RWE Power AG for the design, manufacture, assembly and commissioning of the high-pressure piping systems as well as medium and low pressure piping for two new units at the Westfalen hard coal fired power plant in Hamm, Germany. The order volume amounts to €140 million.

In Australia, Bilfinger Berger, together with two partners, has won an order for the design and construction of a seawater desalination plant in Port Stanvac near Adelaide. Total project volume amounts to €410 million, of which €165 million is accounted for by Bilfinger Berger.

Public private partnerships a model of success: Bilfinger Berger awarded German seal of approval for sustainable construction
Three projects carried out by Bilfinger Berger have been awarded the German seal of approval of sustainable construction. The regional administration building in Hanover, a public private partnership (PPP) project, received the medal in gold, the center of justice in Chemnitz, another PPP project, was awarded bronze. The Laim290 office building in Munich, which was built for Vivico, received a silver medal.

Privately-financed motorway project for €340 million: Bilfinger Berger reaches financial close in Scotland
Bilfinger Berger will be starting work on another major privately-financed transport project in 2009. A consortium under the leadership of the construction and services Group has been selected to expand a section of the M80 motorway to the north of Glasgow, Scotland on the basis of a concession model.
