Depending on the business area, you can work for us as a working student during your degree. Ideally you will already have done an internship with us so that you are familiar with the procedures and structures of the company. If you are interested in being a working student then simply apply online.

What are the requirements to be able to do an internship?
As well as good grades, you should be able to demonstrate commitment, teamwork, motivation and flexibility. Of course we’ll be pleased if you have already acquired practical or conceptual skills that you can put to use for us in specific projects. A basic interest in our company is also essential. What’s more, you should also be able to envisage starting your career with us once you graduate. Part of our recruitment strategy is to go for people we already know. For compulsory internships we hold information interviews beforehand in order to discuss the content of the internship. For voluntary internships the content is based on the area of work you are assigned to.

Which disciplines is Bilfinger Berger interested in for internships?
Your chances are particularly good if you study construction management or economics. But students from the fields of computer science, facility management, supply engineering, architecture, surveying and alignment, mechanical engineering or electrical engineering are also welcome to apply. For other disciplines an internship depends on the specific needs arising from specific projects.

The earlier we hear from you the better! There are, however, no set start dates. Ideally you should get in touch with us four to five months before your planned internship.

What should my internship application include?
If you’re interested in a pre-university internship, then a short application is sufficient. For all other internships you should send a full application. In addition to all your main references, this includes a CV and a cover letter. Your cover letter should explain briefly why you are the right candidate for us. Convince us!

Are there also international internships?

In principal yes. Due to the strong focus on projects in our decentralized units there are always different areas which have different internship needs. What are the requirements for applying to do a diploma thesis?
You should have a clear idea of what your thesis will be and present us a topic that is equally interesting for you and for us. This topic can then be tailored to current developments. We also expect you to be interested in our Group and working for us once you graduate. Part of our recruitment strategy is to go for people we already know.
